Perseverance is collecting rock & soil samples from the surface in hope that we uncover more things about the terrestrial desert planet. It's using SHERLOC on the end of the arm to search for signs of past life and MOXIE in the front right side to experimentally produce oxygen! What NASA is capable of doing will boost our knowledge about Mars and will lead to further development in colonizing there.
Continuing the list, MEDA makes weather measurements, RIMFAX uses ground-penetrating radar to look underground and PIXL, SuperCam and SHERLOC work together. PIXL has a camera that can take pictures so close up, it can view things as small as a grain of salt! The SuperCam can identify chemicals in rocks and soil. Again, this will boost our knowledge and lead to colonization on Mars.
